Since August 2008, they have been running two separate homes for boys and girls.

Anveshi was set up in 1985 in Hyderabad by a small group of activist-scholars to provide resources to research and develop a feminist theory relevant to women's lives in contemporary India.

Today they are one of the foremost non-university research centers in India. Their work focuses on six research initiatives: education; health and health care systems; law and critical legal theory; dalits and minorities; development; and public domain.

Projects in these initiatives examine the shifts in development theory; the crisis of medicine in the Indian context; hegemonic perspectives in school textbooks; the question of secularism and minority in Indian politics; the problematic nature of law and rights in domestic violence; and thinking about what it entails to be a 'Dalit woman' in modern India.

Prajwala - Combat Human Trafficking, Hyderabad

Hundreds of thousands of young adults and children are traded for flesh trade in the guise of jobs, marriage, film roles, modeling and love. More often than not these traders of human misery are not strangers to the victims.

Trafficking in women and children is one of the worst forms of violation of human rights - a form of modern day slavery where the victim is subjected to violence, violation of personal integrity and total humiliation, without any hope of succor.

The victim of such devastating violence may also end up with life threatening HIV/AIDS or a lifetime of trauma and personality disintegration.

Trafficking is thus a violation of several human rights - among them, the very right to life, the right to liberty and security of person, the right to freedom from torture or cruelty, inhuman or degrading treatment, the right to a home and family, the right to education and proper employment, the right to health care – everything that makes for a life with dignity.

Today, sex trafficking in women and children is one of the fastest growing areas of national and international criminal activity. It has created a complex criminal network - at times, with the patronage of those in power. Lack of suitable laws and law enforcement machinery add to the problem.

Prajwala works as a team and our team is committed to provide all support
to any person who believes in combating trafficking.

Prajwala is a grassroot organization mobilizing resources from funding
agencies and the community to run its programs.
