The Safilguda Lake - Mini Tank Bund

The Safilguda Lake also known as Mini Tank Bund is a small lake in Safilguda. Its a popular destination for the local people for evening walks, early morning jogging, yoga sessions and laughter clubs.

HUDA had restored the highly polluted lake in early 2000s. After restoration and cleaning, the lake and its surroundings were clean for some time. However, as years have passed the lake is going back to its old condition.

At present, the lake and the park seem to be in a state of neglect. The water looks dirty and the stench is increasing every day. Though litter bins had been placed in many places, people still throw garbage around. Visitors come for a picnic and leave all the trash behind - either in the park or thrown into the lake water.

It would be good if HUDA made it a paid entry park and stationed security guys to look out for litterers and nuisance creators.

NTR Garden in Hyderabad

Yogi Bear Putt

Yogi Bear, who appears on Cartoon Network is a favourite among the kids. Most oftetn he is accompanied by his friend Boo-Boo and together they try to steal picnic baskets from campers in the park. There is children's park in Hyderabad which is based on the Yogi Bear Character. The place is called Yogi Bear Putt and is located on Necklace Road.

There are lots of games for kids and even a toy train which chugs around th park.
Its a nice place to host birthday parties of tiny tots.

Indira Park

Indira Park named after the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi is spread over 76 acres and is located on the lower Tank Bund road nearthe Hussain Sagar Lake. The park was opened to public in 1978 and is one of the olderst parks in the twin cities.

The park is covered with lush vegetation and makes a good picnic and play spot. Recent additions to the park include musical dancing fountains and artificial water falls. The boating facility at the park is a favourite among the visitors.

Ocean Park at Gandipet has a horde of water games for all ages.

Wave Pool - Gives an amazing simulation of ocean waves.
Harakiri - It is a water slide. You skim across a thin sheet of water and exit on to a dry surface without getting wet.

Lumbini Park

The Lumbini Park is located near the Hussain Sagar Lake and has been named after the birth place of Buddha. The park was developed by HUDA (Hyderabad Urban Development Authority) as a part of the Buddha Purnima project of the state government. The park has eating joints, which offer fast food as well as the local cuisine.

A colorful floral clock, man-made waterfalls and musical fountains are among the major attractions at the park. The spectacular musical dancing fountain and water cascades attract huge crowds daily. During summer months three shows are organized daily.

The park is open on all days except Monday.
