Shilparamam

Shilparamam is an arts and crafts village located near Hitech City, in Hyderabad. It is spread over 50 acres of land and is surrounded by wild vegetation and unique rock formations. The village was conceived with an idea to create an environment for the preservation of traditional crafts.

A major attraction at Shilparamam is the amphitheater where rural and urban artistes meet and interact through workshops, seminars and festivals. Artists from all over the country come here to perform.

Every season ushers in celebrations galore in Shilparamam. Festivals are celebrated in the most traditional. SOme of the festivals celebrated at Shilparamam are:

These festivals help in establishing direct contact between the artisans and the buyers.

The end of the festive season does not mean that the artisans have gone back to their villages. You will find them busy at work in their individual huts. You can enroll as a student to learn the various arts and crafts taught here by these artisans.

Dhola ri Dhani

Dhola-ri-Dhani is an ethnic Rajasthani style resort located on the Medchal Highway, around 11 kms from Secunderabad.
You are given a traditional welcome replete with tilak, aarti and trumpet on your arrival.The whole place is like a quaint Rajasthani village complete with a temple and small huts. The open air temple can be used for conducting religious ceremonies and jagrans.

There are lot of entertainment activities like magic show, Rajasthani folk music and dance, puppet shows and ventriloquist shows.
There is an open air theatre called Ghumar Jhumar which can seat around 400 people. There is a lake side lawn and a pool side lawn. The smokers can head to the Hookah Zone where one can taste the various flavours of Hookah.The kids also have a lot to look forward to - camel rides, horse rides, mini train etc.

You can hire the cottages available in the village.

There are 3 restaurants in the resort - Maan Manuhar Restaurant and Athithi Restaurant both of which have chowki styled seating arrangement. The third one is Sangri which has exquisite wooden furniture.
