Golconda Fort



Golconda Fort, located around 11kms from Hyderabad is one of the most magnificent fortresses in India and its history dates back to the early 13th century, when this part of the country was ruled by the Kakatiyas.

Golconda consists of four distinct forts with a 10km long outer wall having 87 semi circular bastions; some still mounted with cannons, eight gateways, four drawbridges and number of royal apartments & halls, temples, mosques, magazines, stables etc, inside.

The sound and light show at the Golconda is not to be missed. The spectacular show livens up the glorious past of the fort.
